Weekend Family Bereavement Retreat

Dear Retreat Participants,
Welcome to the Bereavement Retreat hosted by My Covenant Place. We are honored that you have chosen to join us on this deeply personal and meaningful journey. Whether your loss is recent or long ago, this retreat is designed to provide a space of comfort, understanding, and healing.

Grieving is not a linear process, and everyone’s path to healing is unique. The purpose of this retreat is to create a nurturing and compassionate environment where individuals can explore their grief, find emotional support, and begin or continue the journey toward renewal.

Through shared experiences and guided activities, we hope to help you feel less alone in your grief and more connected to others who understand.

By participating in this retreat, you will:

  • Gain tools and practices to cope with loss and process emotions.
  • Connect with others who share similar experiences.
  • Experience rest and reflection in a supportive, non-judgmental space.
  • Begin to rediscover hope, purpose, and meaning after loss.

Throughout the retreat, we will engage in a range of thoughtfully planned activities that support emotional healing and self-care, including:

  • Group Sharing Circles – Safe, confidential spaces to share your story and listen to others.
  • Grief Education Sessions – Guided teachings on the grief process and healing.
  • Art and Creative Expression – Gentle activities such as journaling, memory crafts, or painting to express emotions.
  • Mindfulness and Meditation – Techniques to center yourself and ease anxiety.
  • Nature Walks and Quiet Time – Opportunities for solitude, reflection, and peace.
  • Memorial Ceremony – A special time to honor and remember loved ones.
  • We encourage you to engage in the activities that feel right for you and honor your own process.
  • Everything offered is optional—you are free to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Enclosed you will find an application packet for the retreat. Please complete and return the entire packet no later than Sunday June 1st, 2025 to Whood@mycovenantplace.org.

My Covenant Place Weekend Retreat will be held at SkyCroft Conference Center at 9621 Frostown Rd, Middletown, MD 21769.

We ask that everyone arrive by 4:00 PM at the main parking lot at Skycroft for check-in.

All retreat attendees must be fully checked out of rooms by 11:00 AM on Sunday, and off the retreat grounds by 2:00pm.

Our staff and facilitators are here to support you throughout the retreat. We are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and confidential space where healing can begin or continue in a meaningful way.

Thank you for entrusting us with a part of your grief journey. We look forward to walking alongside you in this time of reflection, connection, and hope.
